New tricks with tots' old togs.

In the lead up to Mother's Day we asked people to gift good quality unwanted baby and children’s clothing, dropping them off at one of JoJo Maman Bébé stores across the UK. Garments were sized, sorted by season and beautifully wrapped ready to be distributed through Barnardo's to vulnerable families on Mother’s Day 2015, as a gift ‘From a Mother to Another'.

Why? When is comes to children’s clothing we’ve been looking behind the seams. The average total family spending on clothing per child growing up is £11,000. Meanwhile nearly one-third of UK clothing ends up in landfill, losing all value.

We want to increase the lifespan of tots' togs; decreasing the amount of clothing that goes to waste while supporting vulnerable families and helping them to save money.

Thank you!
By Mother's Day we had collected an incredible 50,000 garments, supporting 4,000 families through Barnardo's.

With each gift having an approximate value of £120 if bought new, we can provide in-direct financial relief to families by freeing up funds that can be spent on other important needs like their food and heating.

Behind the seams
Clothing is more than the thread on our backs, stories are woven into fabric and gifting will allow for tales to be told between mothers. Here are some of the stories behind the 'From a Mother to Another' teams' favourite hand-me-downs.
