Is action on climate change really more popular than Christmas?

So it would seem from the #BackClimateAction Tweetathon, which trended at number 5 on Tuesday 25th November with Christmas dawdling behind in 7th place.

Our polling revealed that 73% of the public want world leaders to urgently agree a global deal to tackle climate change, but most people are unaware how it would directly affect their lives.

It was against this backdrop that we structured a day-long Tweetathon debate, in collaboration with the Department for Energy and Climate Change (DECC).

This global twitter Q&A relay was broken down into hourly themed slots around different subjects, such as health, cities and sport. Leading companies, NGOs and politicians shed light on the impact of climate change on these different areas.

Many voices joined together to #BackClimateAction, with more than a whopping 15,000 tweets posted and 102 million impressions made.

Here are a few tweets to give you a flavour. More highlights can be found on DECC's Storify Feed.
